I am a graphic designer by profession and an artist by life.
By this, I mean I spend my whole time coming up with new creative ideas...
I always carry a sketchook and my camera wherever I go, there's a sketchbook and pencil on my nightstand, and my home desk is littered with art supplies, papers, books and random "junk" that I will eventually make into something. My vacations go into scrapbooks, and I rip pages out of magazines that I like for future inspiration.
I am into technology as much as I enjoy getting down-and-dirty with charcoal or pastels; my brush is my Wacom tablet, and my canvas is the screen. To me, graphic design is just as much a hobby as a career; working with design softwares doesn't stop when I clock out for the day. Prior to working as an official graphic designer, I played with photoshop on a daily basis - creating, modifying and competing on Worth1000.com. I started "designing" my own websites at the age of 14 and learned html by looking at code and testing to see what works. Aside from a few classes taken in college, most of my knowledge working with design softwares such as Illustrator, Photoshop,Quark, etc., is self-taught. One can only learn so much about technique, the rest is practice.
I take most of my inspiration from nature. I enjoy spending time outdoors and getting up-close and personal with my camera. My designs often include organic elements or colors found in nature. Sometimes I'll stray from that and step out of my boundaries to come up with something different, especially if it is requested by my employer or from a client; otherwise, I typically stick to natural elements.
I can only explain so much through words, and the best way to see me and my passion for art is to take a look through my galleries. |
